ALEX VENTLING
Alex was raised in an artistic household, developing a keen aesthetic eye at an early age. After being awarded Top in Photography in high-school, Alex was offered a scholarship at the Savannah College of Art and Design. However, he went on to attend the Rolling Stone Music Video Program at New York Film Academy in 2013. Since then, Alex has continued to direct, film and edit live concert-films and scripted music-videos for bands around Switzerland and Europe.
Alex's music-video for the song, The Rescue Of A Birthday Party by the band Brass Department, was nominated for Best Music-Video at the Basel Gässli Flim-Festival and was screened in 5 other US film-festivals in 2017. It remains a known YouTube success. His current clientele ranges from rising local musicians to notable names in the contemporary music scene, such as Jorge Rossy Trio, Arthur Hnatek, Immigration Unit, IFM, etc. Alex's own experience as a musician deeply informs his filming and editing process. His awareness of sonic parameters influence every decision in both large and detailed aspects. This way, Alex aims to marry the audio with the most interesting visual experience, through movement, perspective and light.
Alex's years of experience in photography give him an intuitive compositional style that is second nature when he works. Alex photographs portraits for musicians and maintains personal creative projects to keep his eye inspired.
Alex continues to inform and incorporate his visual work with his own musical projects.
